The Belgian Christian organisation HVK (Hulp aan de Verdrukte Kerk) that supports persecuted Christians asks for prayer for a former Muslim girl in Belgium that recently converted to Christianity. On their Facebookpage HVK shares that the girl who lives in the province of Antwerp gave her life to Christ when attending a ‘Holy Spirit Worshipnight’ in Antwerp.

By: Jessaï van der Neut

The decision Yasmina (not her real name) made, was not accepted by her family. When she told her mom about it, shortly thereafter her entire family showed up and forced her to break all contact with the outside world. She was locked in and her phone was taken from her.

All this pressure has been too much for Yasmina. She wants to live in peace with her family, but for that, she will have to give up her faith in Jesus.

Prayer request
HVK calls on people to pray for Yasmina and her family. The organisation asks to pray for strength, to keep holding on to the truth through all the opposition. They also ask people to pray that Jesus will reveal Himself to Yasmina’s family.

Furthermore HVK asks for prayers for all Christians with a Muslim background in Belgium. They often encounter a lot of opposition because of their faith in Jesus.

The organisation concludes its post on Facebook with 1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour”.
