During the Million Month—a Europe-wide evangelism campaign—Swiss believers took to the streets to share the gospel boldly. One young woman, Divya, played a key role in capturing the movement through media while witnessing firsthand what God is doing in Switzerland. In this testimony, she reflects on unity, street miracles, and a new hunger rising in her hometown of Bern.
A Movement of Unity and Courage
For Divya Ledchumiharan, who led the media team during the Million Month, what stood out most wasn’t just about creating content—she was impressed by the unity of the Swiss church. “I didn’t know there were so many fiery people who love to evangelise and go on the streets. That really touched my heart.”
I didn’t know there were so many fiery people who love to evangelise and go on the streets.
Participants of all ages—from teenagers to an 82-year-old man—joined daily outreaches. “That’s what touched me the most,” Divya shares. “Many young people were doing it for the first time, and they said, ‘It’s not even as hard as I thought!’ and ‘We have to do this more.’”
Miracles in the City Center
Divya also witnessed and recorded moments that revealed God’s healing power. She recalls a story of a girl with knee problems who received prayer. ‘’Her friend used to help her pick things up. But after prayer, she could do it herself,” Divya explains. “I walked past her and heard her say to her friend and colleague in Swiss German, ‘It’s gone!’ She was so amazed.”
Europeans hungry for the gospel
The team also got to lead a Muslim to Christ. Moreover, while praying the sinner’s prayer with somebody else, they noticed: ‘’There was someone sitting next to them who was praying along with the salvation prayer.’’ She had heard the team sharing the gospel with this person and the team got to connect with her afterwards.

Divya testifies: ‘’People say evangelising is so hard in Switzerland and that people are not open.’’ But she tells her friends: ‘’That’s not true. I saw so many people saved. We can do this. It’s not impossible—it’s a very possible mission.’’
Filled with money yet poor inside
Although many Swiss people are open to the gospel, the love of money is a real stronghold in this country. “A lot of people in Switzerland grow up in wealthy families and feel like they don’t need God because they already have everything,” Divya shares. “But inwardly, everyone struggles with something.”
One story particularly moved her. “I met a girl dressed beautifully, with a designer bag. She asked me to take a picture for her boyfriend, but she was almost crying. She said he was ignoring her. I told her about Jesus—the love that doesn’t ignore or disappoint. She said, ‘I think I’m going to go home and pray today.’”
She said, ‘I think I’m going to go home and pray today’.
Eyes Opened in Her Hometown
During the Million Month, Divya’s eyes were open to Bern’s desperate need for the gospel. She shares: ‘’My only job was to walk around the city capturing things. But I saw how lost the city is. Even though I knew it before, it opened my eyes in a new way.”
Nevertheless, she carries a message of hope to fellow believers: ‘’My generation is being activated in evangelism. We’re not sleepy anymore. At some point, the older generation will pass away and then the young people are the ones who have to continue to bring the gospel to Bern.’’
We’re not sleepy anymore.
A Word to Fellow Believers
To other European Christians, especially those visiting Switzerland, Divya offers this encouragement: don’t be intimidated. “Swiss people may look like they have it all together. But go speak to that businessman or politician. We even felt a burden to reach politicians at the Bundeshaus. Don’t let their attitude or status scare you—they need the gospel.”

Her message is clear: Switzerland is no longer asleep, and those who’ve been awakened are stepping boldly into the harvest field.
