Three years ago, Judith met Jesus. He changed her life completely, setting her free from hopelessness, depression, and suicidal thoughts. From that moment on, she had a desire to tell others about God. ‘’It felt like I got the cure for cancer and I couldn’t shut up about it.’’ However, she didn’t really know how to. Today, she boldly preaches the gospel wherever she goes and she constantly asks the Holy Spirit for insight into people’s lives to share Jesus with them, and she has seen many miracles doing so!
Judith Martini (27) currently lives in Basel, and after doing one year of ministry school, she is an intern for Love Says Go. This ministry, led by Jason and Debbie Chin, helps individuals and churches to live the teachings of Jesus, including his miraculous lifestyle. ‘’Love Says Go has brought training to over 100,000 believers from 80+ nations. Our current mandate is to train 1 million Christians to share their faith in power!’’
As Judith learned from mentors how to step out and share her faith, she shares: ‘’My heart is to help others do the same because I know what it’s like to have the desire to share but not knowing how to do so.’’ She continues: ‘’I want to equip others, because like Heidi Baker said: ‘We need all hands on deck and all eyes on Jesus’.’’
We need all hands on deck and all eyes on Jesus
The gifts of the Spirit in evangelism
One thing that Love Says Go is specifically strong in, is going after words of knowledge in evangelism. This so-called treasure hunting comes down to asking God in our daily lives who we will meet or little details about clothing. ‘’It can be anything, because the Holy Spirit can speak through anything,’’ Judith shares.
Jason’s heart is to challenge himself and others to ask God about details for the people that He wants us to meet. ‘’The Holy Spirit knows what our day will look like and He’s our best friend. This also helps us be more attentive when we meet someone.’’ When Judith meets people on the streets, ‘’I just ask the Holy Spirit: What do you want to tell this person? Can you give me a detail? Sometimes I don’t hear anything but sometimes I do and I just have to be bold and step out.’’
‘’It can change lives!”
One story Judith shares is from a few weeks ago. ‘’I was on the train and I asked a woman for a tissue because I spilled something. The Holy Spirit said: ‘please talk to her and tell her I love her’. Even though I was super tired and didn’t feel like socializing, I obeyed anyway. I told the lady the Lord loved her and she started weeping.
She told me that her husband divorced her that day and that she didn’t know why. I could minister to her, hug her and prophesy over.’’ She continues to say: ‘’I just want to encourage everyone to really listen to the sometimes whispering voice of the Holy Spirit, because it can really change people’s lives!’’
‘’She was speechless’’
Judith testifies of a healing miracle that she recently experienced when she was on her way to minister at a church with her mentor Jason Chin. ‘’At that time I was a bit frustrated, because I didn’t see so much healing on the streets and I longed to see more. Jason saw a limping lady and invited me to come with him to pray. I didn’t know for certain what I was doing, but I just prayed a very short prayer like, ‘pain be gone in Jesus’ name, and I command healing’.
At that very moment, the woman’s mouth opened and she started to cry. She was speechless and just looked at her husband. She did not say anything to us. Then she told us that she could not believe it. She heard of miracles and knew Jesus but she had never experienced it before. She went home without limping!’’
‘’God is changing the city with us and through us’’
When asking Judith about her perspective for the future of evangelism in Europe, she senses an urgency to share the gospel against all odds, and to do so in partnership with the Holy Spirit.
‘’I also feel like the prophetic is a key that can open people’s hearts for the gospel, especially Muslims, because they have their own opinions and thoughts, but the prophetic really opens them up.’’ She has seen this numerous times and encourages others to step out in this as well. ‘’I believe that everybody can work in the gifts of the Spirit! Just go and ask God for His thoughts. God speaks with His sheep, so everyone can hear something.’’
‘’In general, I feel like we are preparing the ground and sometimes we experience many people who reject the gospel when we go out, but we know it’s a seed that we are planting in the hearts of people. The places where we go will not be the same place when we go on outreach again and again. God is changing the city with us and through us.’’
‘’God told me once for outreach in Basel: Judith, invade My city with My love. And God is doing amazing things: there were moments where people told us that somebody had already spoken to them about Jesus three times. And maybe the fourth or the fifth time, they will open their heart. We do not know, but we are surely taking ground. It’s a spiritual battle but we know that it is that which God told us to do. It is The Great Commission and we want to obey, even though we do not see the result sometimes. We know that God works with the seed that we plant and will keep on speaking to the people that we told about Him.’’
‘’People do not prepare for eternal life’’
‘’People prepare for the rent, for marriage, but they do not prepare for eternal life. Nobody knows when their last day of life is, so spreading the gospel is the most important thing we can do. This revival is not going to be led by superstar Christians but by everybody who says yes to God, and we need all hands on deck and all eyes on Jesus.’’
