From the 13th to the 15th of March, hundreds of Europeans were freshly awakened to the call that Christians have outside of the church. FUTURE Conference revolved around one thing: The Gospel Belongs to More than just the Church, it Belongs in the World!
According to the website, FUTURE Conference is a unique 2.5-day forum in Eimeldingen, Germany, ‘’birthed out of a hunger to understand the plans of God for the church across Europe. Typically, when we consider God’s plans we often think of them within the context of church life, but God also has many callings and purposes to be accomplished through His people in multiple fields of society. Have you ever thought to yourself, “we need more people of faith in politics or the business world?”, or “we need more spirit-filled artists” or, “why aren’t there more Gospel-focused churches across European cities?” That’s exactly why we are doing this: to hear what God has to say on these issues and to help raise up people like you who will bring His Kingdom into the world.’’
Wisdom from above in various spheres of society
With Ben Fitzgerald and David Rominger speaking on church and evangelism, Sebastian & Alina Ciuciu and Justin & Mary K Black on arts and culture, Jack Hollis, Ryan Binkley and Tabea & Matthias Greve on business, and Mal Fletcher as futurist and AI commentator, attendees received wisdom from highly influential leaders from across different spheres of society, united by one common passion: Jesus.
‘’Do not despise small beginnings’’
With main sessions as well as breakout rooms specific to major themes that attendees connected with personally, a wide variety of teaching was offered so everyone that came left feeling refreshed and inspired in their specific sphere of interest and influence. One main key shared by the speakers was: just start. Attendees were encouraged to go after the dreams that God placed in their heart and simply take the next step.
Zechariah 4:10 states ‘’Do not despise small beginnings.’’ In concordance with this verse, Mary K Black said: ‘’Success looks like taking one step with the voice of God, trusting His voice. You have to be willing to fail, and trust that God will help you correct it even if you make a wrong decision.’’ Similarly, Ryan Binkley shared his wisdom through an online session: ‘’Stewarding the small things and being willing to do the things that no one else wants to do, is very important!’’ We ought to steward the next step and value the small beginnings. Jack Hollis confirmed this by talking about letting go of past failures: ‘’There’s a reason why the rear view mirror is so small. Don’t look back so much!’’ His advice: go and fail fast. Then you can quickly move onto the next thing!
Supernatural power
Not only did attendees hear powerful teachings, the presence and power of God were also very tangible. People repented of sins and encountered the Lord strongly during worship, and people also got delivered from demons and were healed from sicknesses.
One powerful testimony is Charlotte’s, who shared: ‘’I love to dance, and I had an injury 5 months ago. During training, I tore some ligaments on my foot, and I had hope that God would heal it during this conference. This evening, there were lots of healings. I heard God say: you have to ask for it, you have to go. So I took courage and they prayed for me. I was able to dance afterwards. I was able to jump free for the first time after 5 months and I am very thankful.’’ Watch the testimony below!
