On Saturday 24 September, the Swiss national office of Open Doors (Portes Ouvertes) will organize an Open Day in Yverdon-les-Bains. Rita from Iraq and Timothy Cho from North Korea will give their testimonies, there will be several workshops, and the MLK-church from Paris will lead worship in the evening.
The program will start at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, where Rita will speak about the rebuilding of the church in the Middle-East. There will be several workshops, including a round table about North Korea, interactive prayer, and a Q&A about the church in the Middle-East. After the break, Timothy Cho will speak about persecution of Christians in North Korea. At 6 o’clock there will be food trucks, and at 8 o’clock there will be a youth event with worship. Timothy Cho will tell his testimony.
Timothy Cho was left behind by his parents and lived on the street for years. His only perspective was to work in the coal mines, but he ran away. Rita worked with Muslim Kurds for years. She is now responsible for Open Doors’ partner organisation in Iraq. Michel Varton, who led Portes Ouvertes France for 36 years, will lead the interactive prayer.
This year there will also be a Lego building competition for children from 7 till 15 years of age. The challenge is to build the story of a Biblical hero. The competition will be offered by the Bible Reading League and by Portes Ouvertes. There will also be daycare for children from age 1 till 6.
